As the seasons begin to change
See no reason why I should feel this strange.
I've stayed inside, I've worked, I've cried
And now
I guess I should ride this out
This has to be my last basement apartment
I can't keep staying in my room without a ray of sun
Reading a Holy Sonnet by John Donne,
Waiting for the summer days to come.
Though I keep up with my friends online
Through this disruption to our normal lives,
D&D, it's plain to see, is not the same
When
Adventures are over skype
This has to be my last basement apartment
I can't keep staying in my room without a ray of sun
Reading a Holy Sonnet by John Donne,
Waiting for the summer days to come.
And when we meet again,
I cannot tell you when,
We should go grab a drink,
Sit outside and think about how lucky that we are.
This has to be my last basement apartment
I can't keep staying in my room without a ray of sun
Reading a Holy Sonnet by John Donne,
Waiting for the summer days to come.
Waiting for the summer days to come.
Oh, waiting for those summer days to come.

Leave Toronto, something's calling.
Mississauga traffic's crawling.
On the 401 and I don't know what to do.
I'm going to Kitchener-Waterloo.
Thinking back to walks down King street.
Weekends spent for hours on my feet.
In Victoria Park the skies seem awfully blue.
I'm going to Kitchener-Waterloo.
No more Chainsaw nights, screaming Mr. Brightside.
No more Albert house and Tasteful Dirty Misfits.
No more post rehearsal beers.
I'll just think about the years
I lived here
All those late night talks are gone now;
Drunk and staggering through Uptown.
Those four years were the best I ever knew.
I'm going to Kitchener-Waterloo.

Take me out to Withrow Park
Let's cheer for different teams,
Get fresh air, then after dark,
We'll walk around and scream.
Take me at my word;
I swear I love you.
Take me as myself;
What else can I do?
Take me to the parking lot
Where you cried in my car.
Just outside the coffee shop
Near Logan and Gerrard.
Take me to that place
where I broke your heart.
Take me to that time,
Before I got smart.
I've said sorry so many times,
And each time I realize,
That's not what I should say.
If I were wiser,
I would just tell you how I feel.
If I were wiser,
You wouldn't say that I
Conceal my emotions.
If I were wiser,
We would just move on and start to heal.
You say it's all my fault,
Nothing can change your mind.
My wounds are rubbed with salt.
Why are you so unkind?
You've said sorry so many times,
And each time you realize,
That's not what you should say.
If I were wiser,
I would just tell you how I feel.
If I were wiser,
You wouldn't say that I
Conceal my emotions.
If I were wiser,
We would just move on and start to heal.
Take me for a gentleman;
I wouldn't do you wrong.
Our love is like medicine;
A bitter pill and strong.
Take me on a trip.
Let's go to Detroit.
Take me for the pain
You love to exploit.
We've said sorry so many times,
And each time we realize,
That's not what we should say.
If I were wiser,
I would just tell you how I feel.
If I were wiser,
You wouldn't say that I
Conceal my emotions.
If I were wiser,
We would just move on and start to heal.
If I were wiser,
We would just move on and start to heal.
If I were wiser,
We would just move on and start to heal.
If I were wiser,
We would just move on and start to heal.
If I were wiser,
We would just move on.

The Best Is Yet To Come

I could be like Orson Welles,
Maybe peak at 25.
I could be like Jacques Cousteau
If I weren't afraid to dive.
Being under water.
Coming up for air.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
I could be like John McCrae,
Maybe watch those poppies blow.
I could be like Gustav Holst;
Planets might be all you know.
In The Bleak Midwinter.
Band Suites one and two.
I could be a printer
Making nothing new.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
I could be like Groucho Marx,
Maybe if I liked cigars.
I could be like Langston Hughes,
Harlem isn't very far.
Listening to Street Scene.
Singing Lonely House.
I could write out my dreams,
Or make a deal like Faust.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
The best is yet to come.
I could be like Isaac Page,
Maybe that's the way to go.
